In the Bible, both the Old and New Testament, God many times reveals Himself in events involving children and youth. In fact, God's relationship with His chosen people, the Hebrews, is based on a succession of child-centered events; and God's very incarnation of Himself, to offer salvation to the world, was in person of the child Jesus.
Our Lord sought religious training Himself as a child, and grew up as a child subject to devout human parents, His Blessed Mother, Mary, and her husband, St. Joseph, and He blessed a marriage with His first miracle and drew small children to Him as a public example of the full trust God wants us all.
Our Lord taught us to speak of God, whose reality is awesome beyond human understanding, as "My Father", "Your Father", "Our Father"; so the faith can only be approached in terms of youthful dependence and parental love.
