Celtic Evensong (see pictures in "Scenes from Holy Cross" tab in the menu)
A beautiful service that has always characterized Anglican Churches is choral Evening Prayer, commonly called ‘Evensong.’ In keeping with this tradition, we at Holy Cross offer to the Glory of God a ‘Celtic Evensong.’ The service begins on the hill behind our church with prayers and responsorial readings. A twilight procession to the bagpipes is led into the Nave of the church where the service continues with prayer, confession of sin, readings from Scripture and special music (usually a Celtic Harpist). This is a beautiful, contemplative service in which we bring our day to a close in a meaningful and worshipful way. (Next service time to be announced)
